Beautiful understated vintage Japanese haori jacket made from a silk/rayon chirimen crepe with a unusual print reminiscent of Egyptian hieroglyphs over a mottled background of browns and green.

Haoris are traditionally worn over a kimono, but their shorter length makes them ideal as an easier to wear alternative to the kimono, and work great as lightweight summer jackets, or an alternative to cardigans. Unlike kimono these are normally worn open, or loosely closed by tying the himo, but look fabulous cinched at the waist with a belt.

Part lined with a floral habutae (I think this is synthetic).

Fastens at the front with an ombre effect himo tie.

Dry clean only.

No labels as these predate labelling requirements in Japan, but will fit up to a UK size 16 (Bust=40 inches (102 cm) Waist=33 inches (82 cm) Hips=42 inches (109 cm)

In great vintage condition- only flaws are two small stains that have foxed with age on the inside lining (see pics).
